Soccer Community

We've lost a Good Man this week.  Charlie Kellogg, a long time coach, administrator, supporter and friend to many of us, passed away this past Sunday, 4-August-2008.  Over the years, Charlie was involved at every level of South Jersey Soccer, a coach for many years in the SJSL, SJASL and Eastern HS (Asst Coach), administrator for SJSL (President, State Commissioner) and SJSHoF (President), a mentor for many coaches, as well as being a successful parent and friend to many in the soccer community.  He will be missed but not forgotten.  His viewing is set for Thursday, 7-August, 2008, 7-9PM and also Friday morning, 8:30-9 AM, at the Oral Wooster Funeral Home in Clementon, NJ.   Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, 10:00 am, at the St. Lawrence Church, Lindenwold, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Berlin.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to South Jersey Soccer Hall of Fame for a future scholarship award,  c/o Steve Kosyla, 45 Westminster Drive, Voorhees, NJ 08043.    You can share memories and condolences by signing the guestbook for Charlie at www.OralWoosterFuneralHome.com.

ONE OF OUR OWN HAS PASSED.

John E. White, a member of the West Deptford Masters Soccer team, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 9th, 2006 after playing their game.  John had been involved with SJASL Mens League for many years as well as the SJMasters Soccer League.  I'm sure most of you have played against him at one time or another.  A good decent guy who played hard and enjoyed himself, a guy who when you walked onto the field, would greet you with a smile and ask how you doing, as he did this last weekend with myself.   The link for the viewing and funeral is:

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the John E. White Scholarship Fund, c/o Commerce Bank, 591 Berlin-Cross Keys Rd., Sicklerville, NJ 08081. Condolences and memories may be shared online @  www.bell-hennessy.com

Please be generous in your giving as we memorialize John.
Thanks!!
